Jeremy Barlow was born in Northamptonshire in 1945 and studied illustration at Northampton School of Art .He later worked in art studios in London and the Midlands but decided to become a full-time painter in the early 1970's. In 1977 he went to live in Germany where he concentrated on painting the landscapes and townscapes of Holland, Belgium, Germany, France and Italy. In Germany and Holland his following grew rapidly and his work was exhibited in many major European cities in both mixed and one-man exhibitions.
He returned to the U.K. in 1983. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Society of British Artists and numerous major galleries in London and England where his exhibitions have been immensely successful. He was elected an Associate Member of the royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1990, a full Member in 1994 He continues to travel in Europe extensively, finding subjects not just in the great cities but also in the small villages and towns "off the beaten track" His paintings are to be found in numerous public, private and corporate collections worldwide.
