Katy Sodeau originally trained and worked
in Architecture obtaining a BA Degree from Thames Polytechnic.
She took up painting seriously whilst she was living in
Newmarket in the late 1980's. She was attracted to the
potential of the views around the race course and practice
areas and inspired by the work of other equestrian artists.
Katy's favourite medium is watercolour but she also paints
in oils, acrylic and pastels. Katy has been working as
a professional artist since 1995.

Wildlife painting is a relatively new
obsession that came about after recent safaris to Kenya,
Tanzania, Botswana and South Africa. Katy is especially
interested in capturing the drama and excitement of interaction
between wild animals. The migration and river crossings
in Kenya and the packs of wild dogs in Botswana have been
favorite subjects.
