DAVID HOWELL Sunset, Baccino di San Marco David Howell is currently the President of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. In addition to his interest in marine art his paintings reflect his wider interests and travels, so they include many themes including marine, landscape, equestrian, sporting and topographical subjects. His Baccino di San Marco shown above transports you into the scene with his rendition of all the elements of colour light and atmosphere and demonstrates his skill with the brush and a natural flair. He has gained a reputation as one of our great watercolour painters following in the tradition of Turner and the early masters and in this sense he is one of the leading watercolour painters in the UK today.
